I’m starting planning for a secret project that will be completed this summer and hopefully released in late July or August involving the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices.
Here’s the help request (and a hint at what I’m planning): What scenes (or quotes) from any of the Mortal Instruments or Infernal Devices books would you love to see recreated or acted out?

I want this project to obviously not only be known but also to be special and connected to all us in the fandom. And seriously, anything. Even the scenes in Prague and Italy…I actually can roll with that.

I just read your blurb about Magnus and Asians and the “whitewashing” of Hollywood, and I cannot even explain how much (more) respect and love I have for you now.
I was an aspiring actor, but because Hollywood is so whitewashed, the market was tiny for Asians. Even now, submitting to casting calls, all I can ever think is how I don’t fit any character because I’m Asian. It got to the point where I wondered if I would have been more successful if I were white, even wishing I was at times. I’m proud to be Asian, but sometimes it’s difficult fitting the white-standard society. I mentioned in an earlier post how I hate the name “minorities”-it makes me feel like this insignificant piece of society, and I’m not minor. I’m Asian, but I still matter and still can matter.
You had already written non-white characters (I’m not just talking about the Asians here xD) which was a pleasant surprise to me (even now I wonder at why we have to be surprised when major characters in books aren’t white…). And now, reading how much you’re standing up for the casting of these characters and their races and how Magnus must be Asian (I totally agree, he wouldn’t be the same!), I can’t even explain how much respect I have for you.
It’s horrible to feel like you can’t belong in Hollywood, in society, because you’re not white. The world isn’t just white, it’s colorful and bright and diverse and I think Hollywood needs to showcase that more.

Open letter to Cassandra Clare. It just burst out of me after I read her post about the casting for Magnus.
What is all the (significant) jewelry in Mortal Instruments, specifically CoLS? I’ve been drawing it all as I saw it, but I feel like I’ve missed some.
I’ve done the family rings for Carstairs, Starkweather, Blackthorn, Herondale, Penhallow, Wayland, Lightwood, Fairchild, and Morgenstern. Also Isabelle’s necklace, Sebastian’s bracelet, the faerie rings, and the Praetor Lupus pendant.
Any I miss? And watch out for the completed sheet of jewelry. I drew so many family rings O.e Next will be weapons :)
CoLS-inspired necklace! Gold angel wing for Jace, black angel wing for Sebastian/Jonathan, and a piece of adamas.
Angel wings were hand-sculpted by me out of polymer clay. Bead is a frosted glass bead, and I also clamped the suede cord into a necklace myself.
